Taking reference from Nicolas De Larmessin II's 'Costumes Grotesques et les Métiers' or 'Costumes of the Trades; a series of engravings produced in the the 1700's. Made during the first lockdown of the Covid 19 Pandemic when small and local businesses were struggling, I decided to make a pastiche series which I see as a high street of women wearing their wares, standing in solidarity for the independent shopkeepers of the UK and beyond.
