Created in lockdown when starved of culture and visual stimulation these prints were largely inspired by a trip to the Feast and Fast exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, one of the last exhibitions I saw before the start of the pandemic as well as elements drawn from taking a deep dive into some of my books. The prints have become a joyful and colourful composite of notes and drawings made while reading around the subject.

HUMBLE-PIE features drawings of Ivan Day's recreations of the ridiculously adorned bird pies of medieval dinners, a bastardised drawing of a drawing of an east-end pie seller from Samuel Pepys London cry collection (via Spitalfields life), a lucky glass rolling pin, traditional nursery rhymes, historical designs for pie tops and more.
