Created in lockdown when starved of culture and visual stimulation these prints were largely inspired by a trip to the Feast and Fast exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, one of the last exhibitions I saw before the start of the pandemic as well as elements drawn from taking a deep dive into some of my books. The prints have become a joyful and colourful composite of notes and drawings made while reading around the subject.

SWEET-TOOTH features drawings of Ivan Day's recreations of traditional sweetmeats, jumbles and comfits, sugar flowers, sugar plums, a post-it sketch I did when reading Sir Nathaniel William Wraxhall's memory of sugar plums (featured in the Folio book of food and drink which I did the cover for) a Bow candlestick, dutch spekulaas gingerbread, twelfth cake, and boar's head cake which I saw recreated on 'The Sweetmakers' on BBC.
